“So I, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to you to live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called, that is, to live a life that exhibits godly character, moral courage, personal integrity, and mature behavior—a life that expresses gratitude to God for your salvation, with all humility, forsaking self-righteousness, and gentleness maintaining self-control, with patience, bearing with one another in unselfish love.” Ephesians 4: 1-2. Godly behavior is a way of life that is based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. It involves living in accordance with the will of God and following His commands.
This includes loving others, being humble, and maintaining self-control. Love: One of the most important aspects of godly behavior is love. Jesus said that the greatest commandment is to love God with all your heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). He also said that we should love our neighbors as ourselves (Matthew 22:39). This means that we should treat others with kindness and respect, even when they don’t deserve it. We should also be willing to forgive those who have wronged us. Another important aspect of godly behavior is humility. Jesus taught us to be humble and not to think too highly of ourselves (Matthew 23:12). We should remember that we are all equal in God’s eyes and that no one is better than anyone else.
We should strive to put others before ourselves and not seek recognition or praise for our actions. Finally, godly behavior involves self-control. Jesus said that we should not be controlled by our desires but instead by the Spirit of God (Galatians 5:16). This means that we should strive to control our emotions, thoughts, and actions in order to live a life pleasing to God. We should also strive to resist temptation and remain faithful to Him. Exhibiting godly behavior is an important part of living a life pleasing to God. It involves loving others, being humble, and maintaining self-control. By following these principles and many others, we can show our love for God and demonstrate our faithfulness to Him.
Our Mission Statement
Our aim is to build city churches around the world. These churches are to be at least 1% of the local population. This proportion will enable the church to be an influence for good and for change in the community.
- To bring every member into maturity in Christ.
- To foster deep and meaningful fellowship.
- To encourage and work for unity among all believers.
- To work for the good of the community.
- To play a positive role in the life of the nation.
- To provide opportunities for service.
- To be actively involved in missions at home and abroad.
Central to this vision of the church is the provision of an umbrella for people who have the call of God on their lives and who are willing to enter into relationship and partnership in ministry. We endeavor to create opportunities for these ministries to find expression and fulfillment.
Membership
Membership of the church is open to all born again Christians with the evidence of the new life being practically demonstrated.
Such members must:
- Subscribe to the doctrine of the church.
- Be easily identified through the units of the church (e.g. the house fellowship).
- Endeavour to participate actively in all general and corporate fellowship meetings of the church.
- Be available for service and support the church programmes regularly, morally, and financially.
